Scotland vs Brazil: Where To Watch, Prediction, Match Preview – Can Scotland Pull Off An Upset?

Published on

Brazil get back to their winning stride after starting the World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Morocco. Carlo Ancelotti has been trying to get the better version of Brazil in the last few years.

The five-time champions have World Cup heritage, while Scotland is trying to qualify for the next round from the group stage at major tournaments.

Can Scotland get the better of Selecao, or Brazil go through in style to the round of 32?

World Cup Form

Scotland started their World Cup journey with a 1-0 win against Haiti. However, they have failed to beat the Moroccan side, who shared the points with Brazil in the opening match.

Though Brazil started the World Cup with a draw against the African side, they came back well against Haiti. Vinicius Jr. is in great form with the yellow jersey. He has scored in both of the matches for Selecao.

Winning against Haiti will give Brazil some sort of relief, but they are far away from being a Champion side. Ancelotti will surely try to put together a team to end the group stage on a high note.

However, Raphinha got injured in the last match and might miss this tie against Scotland. However, Neymar would be fit by now and get some minutes against Scotland.

Brazil vs Scotland: Head-To-Head

Brazil and Scotland will meet each other in the biggest stage of football for the fifth time. This is the highest between any two teams after Argentina vs Netherlands (six times) since the World Cup 1974.

After the draw in 1974, the Brazilians had the better side in the next three meetings between these two sides. In 1982, Selecao won by  4-1, in 1990 with 1-0, and in 1998 with 2-1. They have played six friendly matches where Brazilians are unbeaten as well.
